I've created a teacher mentoring program to be exactly what I would have wanted, and frankly really needed, when I was a new teacher. I often say, "I've taught about 6,000 classes at this point and I really wouldn't want to take one of my first 3,000." I don't want my Teacher-Students to feel that way. Do you ever teach a class that you knew wasn't good but six students swoon up to you afterward and tell you how great it was? Do you ever teach the best class of your life and everyone seems to rush out of the studio looking like they're never practicing yoga again because of you? Yeah, me too. Getting an asana out of your mouth is hard enough let alone trying to explain it to between 5 and 75 people without keeping them in the pose for 15 minutes. I can help.
This is a private program, limited to a maximum of 6 teachers. Teachers must have completed a 200-hour TT program (I don't care if you're yoga alliance certified) and be currently teaching classes to the public on a regular basis. In addition, my teacher-students must have a consistent asana practice including a home practice. Students in this program care very much about alignment and understand that proper technique practiced over time leads to strong, healthy, and happy students. You have taken my classes and you gravitate toward a similar style of teaching. You understand that becoming a teacher takes a hell of a lot more than 200 hours and that you're ALWAYS a student :)
Group Meetings are all held on Sunday mornings from 8-9:30am at Back Bay Yoga:
May 17, May 31, June 14, June 28, July 12, July 26
To sign up, email me at renee@reneeleblancyoga.com
Cost of program: $675, payment plan available.
I will take one, possibly two, public classes of each member of the program during this training and we'll talk privately about the class. During this three-month program, you'll be expected to write down your questions and thoughts about your own classes as well as other classes you take. We'll set up an email group and have on line chatting as well. My main goals for you will be better communication of alignment of poses to your students, better understanding of asana, more comfort with your sequencing, far more confidence as a teacher in general and, a better understanding of your personal path as a teacher. We will also discuss the business of yoga - teaching private classes, retreats, studio ownership and the on line world of yoga.
